  • FBNBank Ghana Limited is a subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Sub-Saharan Africa’s premier banking brand. FBNBank Ghana was formerly International Commercial Bank (ICB) which commenced operations in Ghana in November 1996. Following the acquisition of 100% equity stake in the West Africa Operations of ICB by First Bank of Nigeria in 2013 and upon the approval of the Bank of Ghana, the name of the Bank was changed to FBNBank Ghana Limited.

    The vision of FBNBank Ghana is to be a clear leader and Ghana’s Bank of first choice. Our mission is to maximise shareholder value through sustainable growth, superior customer service and innovation. We currently operate 17 branches and two agencies across Ghana. All our branches are networked to facilitate transactions of business by our customers from any of the branches.

    We are focused on providing quality service that will ensure the strengthening of our position in the banking sector. In the ensuing years, we will focus on the provision of innovative and unparalleled customer service through the deployment of an appropriate customer relationship management tool to facilitate better customer service delivery. We will also pursue the establishment of a more robust governance structure that will help drive the growth aspirations of the Bank.

    FBNBank Ghana (in line with its parent company FirstBank’s philosophy) has launched the concept of “Value Banking”, which is all about creating a service and product platform that addresses the needs of customers from the functional and the affective aspects. Functionally, the Bank
    • ensures that it is easily accessible and provides confidentiality with good service/product platforms (e.g. ATMs) for the conduct of business;
    • has introduced the SMS alert which has also improved the quality of customer service;
    • promotes professionalism and integrity of the contact personnel with good job knowledge and information to better serve the customers;
    • offers quality service delivery and customer-centric product innovation and development;
    • upholds transparency in pricing for ‘value for money’ services and products.

    In terms of awards, FBNBank Ghana (formerly ICB) was adjudged First Runner Up (Advisory Services) and Second Runner Up (Customer Service) at the 12th Ghana Banking Awards in June 2013. In 2011, we were adjudged Best Bank Financial Performance and in 2010 Best Growing Bank for the year. In 2009, we received awards for Financial Performance, Medium Term, and Long-Term Loan financing and in 2008 Best Bank in Advisory Services. On the international front, in 2011 we received the Best Bank in Ghana award from EMEA Finance in the United Kingdom.
